Even though Lewis Hamilton has had difficulties in the past, Jenson Button believes the Mercedes driver will be ready to compete for the Formula 1 title in 2024.

Despite Hamilton's difficulties over the last 2.5 years, former F1 champion Button is still upbeat about the British driver's prospects.
After winning the F1 title in 2020, Hamilton suffered a devastating defeat against Red Bull's Max Verstappen in the thrilling Abu Dhabi Grand Prix of 2021. Additionally in 2022, Hamilton struggled even more, finishing sixth in the standings, behind his Mercedes teammate George Russell, with Verstappen again victorious.
Unfortunately, Hamilton hasn't had much better luck thus far in the 2023 season. Verstappen seems to be on track for a third straight world championship, enticing fans to bet with FanDuel. However, the British driver, who is now in fourth position, hasn't been able to pose a threat.
Hamilton's hopes of winning an eighth world title and breaking Michael Schumacher's record seem to be fading at the age of 38. Jenson Button, who is renowned for his frank judgment and has previously criticized Hamilton, unexpectedly voiced optimism about Hamilton's possibilities for the future.

Button is confident in the Mercedes team. Mercedes' competitive past and capacity to overcome obstacles were emphasized by Button, despite the fact that they may be behind Red Bull in the current season. Button was asked by On Track GP about Hamilton's prospects of earning an eighth championship, and he said:
“Yeah, I think so. Next year there's every possibility Mercedes will be quick. They're a great team. They're a little bit behind Red Bull at the moment, so it's tricky as the regulations do not really change, but if anyone can challenge them, it's definitely Mercedes.”
Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time winner, will be ready to give it his all and challenge for the title, in Button's opinion, due to his experience and tenacity. Lewis will be ready there to fight for the championship.”
Button believes that Mercedes has a chance to catch up to Red Bull despite the fact that substantial modifications to the F1 rules for the upcoming season are not anticipated. As a team that has always been at the top of its sport, Mercedes has the resources and expertise to make a car that can compete.
Although Lewis Hamilton's quest for an eighth championship may seem overwhelming, Button's optimistic approach offers Hamilton and his supporters some ray of hope. The seven-time world champion is said to be intent on catching up to Max Verstappen and regaining his place as F1's undisputed champion as he continues to show off his grit on the track.
