In the wake of the Austrian Grand Prix, amid a first modern era double DNF due to mechanical reasons for Mercedes, Ferrari can boast that all six cars powered by their power units scored points at Red Bull Ring.
Although victory in Austria was beyond reach, Ferrari powered cars occupied the next four spots on the results sheets with Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel making it onto the podium while the pair of Ferrari powered Haas cars of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen scored their best result in Spielberg on Sunday.
Charles Leclerc led home his teammate Marcus Ericsson as The Ferrari powered Saubers claimed the final two points-paying positions on the day.
All-in-all a good day of graft from the Ferrari 062 EVO power units, real workhorses on a day in which their main rivals cracked.
Team chief Maurizio Arrivabene was keen to talk up the achievement, "The real story is that there are six Ferrari power units in the top ten on the race result sheet. And, apart from that, we are leading both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ championships."
"[The] result was not ideal, but it is definitely useful. The team did a great job, at every level, to make up for a difficult Saturday. During the race, the handling of the car, the perfect management of the tyres, the strategy and reliability, all made the difference."
Ferrari have been notoriously distant with media in recent seasons, but according to the former Marlboro communication vice president, this is part of the team's strategy and not expected to change.
"When you shout, when you talk too much 'changed this changed that, brought this package...' or we talk about the driver 'he is no good anymore' but then we bring an interesting package but it overheats and you stop your car on the side of the track," added Arrivabene clearly having a dig at his peers in the paddock who are less shy to attract column inches.
In a season which has seen the balance of power seesaw dramatically, Arrivabene was cautious when asked to predict his team's chances for the forthcoming British Grand Prix, "On paper, next weekend at Silverstone looks difficult for us, partly because it’s a home race for our main rivals. But we will tackle it with our usual level-headedness and determination."
