Max Verstappen became a father for the first time today, following the birth of his daughter Lily with partner Kelly Piquet.
The three-time Formula 1 World Champion remained in Monaco earlier this week to be with his family, missing scheduled media duties ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
Verstappen is now confirmed to be in Florida and will take full part in the sixth round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship at the Miami International Autodrome.
Verstappen and Piquet shared the news on social media, posting a photo of their newborn daughter with the message: “Welcome to the world, sweet Lily Our hearts are fuller than ever – you are our greatest gift. We love you so much ”
Red Bull Racing have yet to issue a formal team statement, but the Dutchman’s late arrival has been approved under exceptional circumstances.
The baby’s arrival means that Verstappen is now the second father on the Formula 1 grid alongside Nico Hulkenberg, who shares daughter Noemi Sky with wife Eglė Ruskyte.
