Video: Canadian Grand Prix The Good, The Bad & The Anonymous

In this video edition of NewsDesk Unplugged GRANDPRIX247 editorial duo Paul Velasco and Jad Mallak review the The Good, The Bad & The Anonymous at the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix.

The iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve cicruit in Montreal plus the uncertain weather and the closest Max Verstappen has been seriosuly challenged meant an unforgettable weekend for Formula 1.

In a race remembered for two safety cars, George Russell started from pole in his Mercedes, and led for a spell. Then Lando Norris seemed to have it all going his way when he got in the lead and simply roared away from the chasing back. Until Logan Sargeant binned his Williams.

Thereafter it appeared McLaren dropped the ball, messed up the maths and their driver Norris had to settle for P2. Nevertheless, it was a very encouraging weekend for Zak Broen’s team.

At the front, Verstappen won his 60th Grand Prix, one of his toughest for sure. Norris next, with Russell P3 despite mistakes made which he acknowledged afterwards. Truth is Lando and George could’ve won in Montreal. They knew it. They didn’t. Incredible Max did as is discussed in the video.

Other talking points include Jacques Villeneuve’s commentary and comments before and during the course of the weekendin his homeland. Thoughts are shared about the Daniel Ricciardo “wake up call” he received from JV.

As well as Sergio Perez’s miserable weekend, hardly the thank you Red Bull should get from the veteran who got himself a two year extension with the team during the build-up to Canada.
