After finishing P2 to Lando Norris at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, Max Verstappen dropped this priceless quote to an irritating question posed to him: "If my mum had balls, she would be my dad."

It was a classic Verstappen answer when pressed during the post-race press conference by a journo wanting to know if Norris would've won the race without the intervention of a Safety Car while Verstappen was in control of the race.
This gifted Norris a free pitstop and the lead of the race for the restart. He managed to just hang on to the lead into Turn 1 as Verstappen was hooked to his rear wing throughout. However, after that, the #4 McLaren managed to eke out a steady gap over the #1 Red Bull
Replying to the 'would-Lando-win-without-Safety-Car question' that did deny him the race victory, Verstappen said: "I don't know what the gap was, to be honest, before the Safety Car." He then turned to Norris and asked: "How far were you behind me?"
The McLaren driver replied: "It would have been tough for me. I would have had to overtake two Ferraris, a Red Bull, Oscar...
Possibly irked by the question Verstappen fired back at the reporter: "It's always if, if, if, right? If my mum had balls, she would be my dad. It's how it goes in racing. Sometimes it works out for you, sometimes it doesn't."

Verstappen: I was very aware of Perez

The triple F1 World Champion was lucky to survive Turn 1, let alone finish second after nearly being skittled out by his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, who out-braked himself through the melee through the long first corner complex.
Asked if he knew that his race nearly ended in T1, Verstappen replied: "I was very aware. I mean, I turned in and I saw him lock up. And I looked after the race. There was like a scratch on my diffuser. So something must have hit.
"It was very close. Could have ended in a disaster, of course, for the team as well. So yeah, lucky," reckoned Verstappen. Perez finished P4.
Later in the press conference on Sunday evening in Miami, Verstappen's unique sarcasm continued when asked about the bollard he hit while leading the race, he replied with tongue firmly in cheek: "I didn't like it, so I decided to take it out and test the durability of the front wing as well. So that's a crash test done.
"Yeah, there was no damage. The cone was out of the way for everyone, so it was basically a free-for-all after that," added Verstappen.
Despite finishing second on Sunday, the Dutch ace still increased his 2024 F1 World Championship points lead over Perez by eight points after the weekend in Miami.
