Ferrari signed a multi-year partnership with HP (Hewlett Packard) making the world’s second-largest PC vendor the new title sponsor of the legendary Italian racing team, including the Formula 1 Scuderia.

The two companies announced the partnership on Wednesday. Based on the agreement, for which no financial details were provided, the HP logo will make its debut on Ferrari’s Formula One cars ahead of the Miami Grand Prix on May 3-5, when the team will start competing as Scuderia Ferrari HP, the companies said in a joint statement.

The partnership debut will be marked by a unique edition Ferrari car livery, specifically designed for the Miami Grand Prix. While Sportbusiness reports that “sources say the deal’s annual value is comparable to Red Bull Racing’s title sponsorship deal with technology company Oracle, which is currently the most valuable of its kind in F1.”

Respected outlets are valuing the deal in the region of $90-million to $100-million per annum into the Ferrari coffers ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in the team next year.

Ferrari hadn’t had a title sponsor, whose name is associated with that of its racing team, since its latest partnership, with Philip Morris’s Mission Winnow formerly their long-time sponsor Marlboro, expired at the end of the 2021 F1 season.

As part of the deal, Ferrari will use California-based HP technology and services, including adaptive PCs and devices, collaboration products and services, and printing capabilities.

“The integration of HP’s high-performance products and services … will enable Scuderia Ferrari HP and the other racing teams of the Prancing Horse to turbocharge training precision and optimize strategic decision-making, on and off the track,” they said.

Ferrari and HP added they were committed to accelerating sustainable innovation and that they would work together to expand educational initiatives within their teams and communities.

Ferrari reported in a press release that ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, representatives from both organizations will be present for the reveal of the Scuderia Ferrari HP livery, which will debut in a unique edition specifically designed for Miami.

The report added that Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna, Scuderia Ferrari HP’s Team Principal Fred Vasseur, the team’s drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, and HP CEO, Enrique Lores will be in attendance.

Vigna said of the new partnership: “Our founder passed on to us his continuous will to progress. From this stems our drive to innovate on the road and on the track, as well as our commitment to a sustainable future, from carbon neutrality to the education of the younger generation.

“In HP we have found the same values, which make it an ideal partner. We look forward to starting our collaboration and facing new opportunities and challenges together.”

Enrique Lores, CEO of HP Inc commented: “With technology, performance and exceptional craftsmanship fuelling the future, the partnership between HP and Ferrari is a natural fit. Both brands are built on rich histories that have endured the test of time.

“Through this unique collaboration, we also have an opportunity to reach new audiences, drive business growth, and create lasting impact for our shared clients and communities. Together we will leverage the global stage of racing to accelerate sustainable innovation,” added Lores.

HP are no newcomer to F1, they were formerly the title sponsor of the Williams F1 Team, between 2000 and 2005. (Additional Reporting by Giulio Piovaccari)
