Stake Formula 1 team, run by Sauber (previously known as Alfa Romeo) confirmed 20-year-old Zane Maloney as one of their reserve drivers for some of the Grand Prix weekends this season.

Barbadian driver Maloney will continue racing in Formula 2 and shares the reserve role with F2 champion Theo Pourchaire, who is moving to Japan's Super Formula series and will be unavailable for some F1 races.
He was also announced last November as a reserve for the Andretti Formula E team at electric races that do not clash with his F2 commitments.
Bridgetown-born Maloney won the British F4 championship as a rookie in 2019 and finished runner-up in his debut FIA Formula Three season in 2022.
The former Red Bull junior made four podium appearances with Rodin Motorsport in Formula 2, the feeder series for Formula 1, last season and finished 10th overall.

Stake F1 Team boss and Sauber Academy Director, Beat Zehnder said: “We are delighted to welcome Zane as the latest addition to the Sauber Academy. His path through the junior series has been remarkable so far and, with his speed and potential, he surely makes a great addition to our talented roster.
