Kyle.Engineers offers an initial insight into the C43, the 2023 Formula 1 car that Alfa Romeo launched on Tuesday in Zurich for the upcoming F1 season.
For most of us, what we saw from the initial launch of the Alfa Romeo C43, is that the new car has a striking new livery, but for the experts, Kyle.Engineers, there is a little more to it than just a new paint job.
Kyle, the ex-F1 and PhD professional aerodynamicist takes a look at the Alfa Romeo C43 and offers some initial thoughts on its aero dynamic design concepts.
Alfa Romeo's Technical Director Jan Monchaux spoke of the changes they have applied to the C43 during the launch, revealing that the team have done a lot of work on the rear end of the car, revealing that there was a new rear suspension and gearbox while the cooling layout had been changed and the bodywork revised.
The changes were a response to the tweaked regulations for 2023, where the cars' ride heights were raised by 15mm, a change the FIA mandated in response to the "porpoising" all the teams suffered from in 2022.
Other than that, Alfa Romeo will have a new CEO in the form of ex-McLaren boss Andreas Seidl, while the Managing Director of Sauber Group, Alessandro Alunni Bravi, who was appointed the F1 Team Representative.
The team's driver lineup remains the same, with Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu spearheading the team's 2023 F1 campaign for the second year in a row.
The team finished the 2022 F1 season sixth in the Constructors' Standings and are looking to build up on that result this year.
