Red Bull issued a brief statement following the 2022 United States Grand Prix, dedicating the race win and their 2022 Constructors' Title to the late Dietrich Mateschitz.
Red Bull became five-time Formula 1 Constructors' Champions in Sunday in Austin, after Max Verstappen won the race as the team goes through one of their most challenging time in the sport, off track that is.
They are facing penalties for breaching the 2021 cost cap, and on Saturday suffered the loss of their founder and supporter Dietrich Mateschitz.
It wasn't a straightforward race for the Milton Keynes outfit, but in the end, thanks to Verstappen's tenacity took the win and secure the the 2022 Constructors' Crown, their first since 2013.
Christian Horner said after the race, speaking to
Sky Sports F1: "It has been a hugely emotional weekend.
"Max obviously had to fight back after a difficult pitstop, we had a problem with the front wheel gun, and he just got his head down and I just thought there was only going to be one outcome of that race.
"To win the Constructors' Championship after 8 long years is incredible. The good thing is we kept a calm head, recovered, and Max came back through it," he added.
"He has a determination and as he is growing and maturing, he is reading races pretty well. He was obviously pretty upset after the pitstop but very quickly got his emotions in check and got his head down and paced himself so that he didn't burn his tyres out.
"That was the best possibly way we could have won that race and I think Dietrich would have been very proud of that," Horner said in tribute to the late team founder.
After the race, and in the customary post race press release, Red Bull issued a brief yet emotional statement that replaced drivers' and team principal's quotes with one sentence.
"This One's for Mr. Mateschitz. Danke Didi," the statement said.
