Haas F1 Team are already in action at Barcelona, as the team gave their 2022 Formula 1 car, the VF22 a shakedown at the Spanish venue ahead of pre-season testing on Wednesday.
The American squad initialized the 2022 car launch season, as they revealed images of their 2022 F1 challenger on February 4, without showing the real car at the time.
However, the actual VF22 was revealed to the world today as it ran its first laps around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as a shakedown, using up one of their two allocated filming days.
Nikita Mazepin was the first of the two Haas drivers to get the feel of a 2022 F1 car, with the team’s actual car visibly quite different from the revealed show-car.
The actual VF22 has quite different side pods – albeit still wide – and engine cover that features cooling slats similar to those of the Ferrari F1-75 and Aston Martin AMR22 on the top surface of the side pods, with radiator inlets clearly bigger than those shown on the launch show-car.
The front wing of the car retained the four-element design, with the elements of the actual front wing being profiled differently that the ones on the show car.
Haas have confirmed their driver schedule for testing between March 23 and 25, with both drivers sharing driving duties on each day.
Mazepin kicks off the test on Wednesday morning before Mick Schumacher takes over for the afternoon session. The roles will be reversed on the second day, with the final day having the same driver sequence as the first.
And we are GO!
