Mar.7 (YallaF1 Magazine) So F1 pre-season testing is finally over after 12 intensive and drama packed days in Spain.
Drama packed? Well, yes! Ferrari’s problems with their "complex" new car, Lotus being really quick, finding a major problem, skipping a test, then coming back even quicker. And of course all the speculation on the pecking order, and who is or isn’t sand bagging ahead of the season opener. Melbourne will reveal all.
Also over (or at least on the final stages) is Sir Frank Williams and his seat on the board of the team that bears his name. And with this, an end of an era as Sir Frank was one of the original garagistes who from nothing - less than nothing as legend has it - built an F1 dynasty which for huge chunks of time was a superpower in the sport.
They have slipped down the rankings and last year really struggled. Nevertheless it is only fitting that we, in this issue, pay homage to a great character of F1 history who we hope will be able to enjoy his ‘retirement’ with the aplomb he richly deserves.
Thank you Sir Frank Williams for the memories.
