"Ferrari winning at Monza is like winning the F1 world title," Piero Lardi Ferrari, the only living son of Enzo, is on record stating, which exemplifies the pressure cauldron Fred Vasseur's team face at this weekend's 75th Italian Grand Prix.

As the team prepares to compete in front of its passionate tifosi, Ferrari enters the event with a sense of optimism following a stronger-than-expected showing in the Grand Prix by Charles Leclerc (P3) and Carlos Sainz (P5) on Sunday. But was that really a resurgence? We will know at Monza where there is nowhere to hide for the Scuderia.
Speaking ahead of his second visit to the Temple of Speed, Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur said: "We come to Monza in good spirits, following our performance in the race at Zandvoort. It was a demonstration of how, in the current Formula 1, a perfect execution, putting everything together and making the most of one's available package, can really make a difference."
Monza is renowned for its high-speed layout, making it almost a unique challenge on the Formula 1 calendar. This year, the circuit presents even more of a challenge due to a full tarmac resurfacing. The first since its inception 102 years ago. Additionally, several kerbs have been modified.

The goal is to once again give the Tifosi something to cheer about

Noting the track changes in the Ferrari preview, Vasseur acknowledged: "Monza is unique in many respects: the track is truly one of a kind, the only ultra-high-speed circuit left on the calendar, and this year it will present an additional challenge in that it has been entirely resurfaced, with changes also made to the kerbs at some corners."
Ferrari, which has a storied history at Monza with 19 wins and over 70 podium finishes, is acutely aware of the expectations from the thousands of Tifosi who will flood the grandstands, turning the circuit into a sea of Rewd and high on expectations.
"I will never forget my first Italian Grand Prix with Ferrari last year," Vasseur recalled, emphasising the importance of delivering a strong performance for the fans. "The goal for me, the drivers, and everyone in the Scuderia - the team at the track and the hundreds working back in Maranello - is to once again give the Tifosi something to cheer about."
As the Scuderia gears up for the weekend, the anticipation among the Tifosi is palpable. They will be in the stands from Friday, ready to support their team through every lap. Vasseur concluded with a rallying cry, "We know we can rely on the support of all our Tifosi, and we will put our heart and soul into it."
With both 2024 Formula 1 World Championship titles way out of reach and unlikely for Ferrari or their drivers, winning the Italian Grand Prix would be an equally valuable alternative, as Piero Lardi Ferrari states in the headline.
