Will Verstappen Leave Red Bull Sooner rather than later?

The World Champion team as a whole are in a state of disarray as they have a handling imbalance issue with the current Red Bull RB20 car design that they don’t know the cause of nor how to resolve it. This has led to Verstappen publicly admitting that these developments that were in fact meant to improve the car have in fact set them back a few steps.

If you are a fan of Red Bull drivers such as Verstappen, you will notice if you bet at sites like Comeon Ontario that the odds have been slipping as their star driver falls further and further back in the grid. And so it was only a matter of time until speculation started arising as to whether Max will in fact leave Red Bull to go elsewhere, and that’s what we’re going to look at today.

Well, one thing we know for certain is that he isn’t going to leave anytime in the very near future. As the question was in fact posed to him directly, he was adamant that he was staying for the 2025 F1 season. Although it’s not just the current issues with the car that have led to this speculation, it must be noted.

Another big shock in the F1 world was when Hamilton announced that he was leaving Mercedes, and following this, the speculation then started as to whether Verstappen would step up to replace Hamilton over at rival Mercedes.

And rumours from the Mercedes paddock have hinted that Verstappen would look ‘good in silver’, showing their desire to lure him from their rivals and get him off their roster.

Despite the recent slump in performance from the car and subsequently the Red Bull drivers, they are in fact still dominating when it comes to the standings, with Verstappen himself as of the time of writing this leading the way on 313 in the World Championship standings, a healthy margin ahead of Norris of Mercedes back on 254. His teammate Perez finds himself back in 8th place on 141 points.

This is also piling on the pressure on Red Bull themselves to correct their current issues with the car and not only this but to make strides forward in itself development, and this is up on the priority list for Red Bull as they are already working on the car for next year.

And so looping back to the original question, it can all be seen as speculation, but as of the moment, Verstappen has confirmed that he is going nowhere and remains loyal to Red Bull.

However, if developments aren’t positive with the car itself next season, then we will find ourselves back at the table again debating on how much longer they could be kicking the can down the road before he has eventually had enough and leaves.
