Max Verstappen will be in high spirits when he hits the track in Las Vegas this weekend after his fantastic win in Sao Paulo as he gets ready for the final push towards a fourth consecutive Formula 1 title.
Verstappen defied the odds, recovering from an unlucky qualifying for the
Sao Paulo Grand Prix, not to mention his grid penalty for a new Internal Combustion Engine which meant he started the race from 17th.
But he delivered a masterclass in the treacherous conditions, winning to extend his lead over title rival Lando Norris to 62 points.
"Brazil was an incredible race for us and a really special moment for myself and the Team," the Dutchman said in Red Bull Racing's Las Vegas Grand Prix preview.
"It was great to see us back to the form we were before; the Team did an amazing job and we are hoping to continue this into the next few races.
"Of course, Vegas is the start of the final triple header of the year so this is the final push for everyone," Verstappen added looking ahead to this weekend.
"We performed well here last year and it is a really fast circuit, with long straights and a lot of opportunities to overtake and go racing.
"Once again, the temperatures look quite low so it will be about managing the tyres. We are taking each race as it comes and are looking forward to the final races of the season," the reigning F1 champion concluded.
While Charles Leclerc was on pole for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, it was Verstappen who won. The Red Bull ace has a chance of wrapping up his fourth title this weekend.
If he finishes ahead of Norris and both score points, Verstappen is crowned champion. If neither of the title contenders scores points, Verstappen is the champion.
If Norris finishes fourth without taking an extra point for the fastest lap and Verstappen finishes one spot behind, he is still champion.
