Max Verstappen has revealed his plans to set up his own GT3 team in 2025 with two cars, claiming the planning phase is done and it's now time for execution.

The only thing Verstappen cares about is racing, as the reigning Formula 1 Champion is known to be an avid sim racer off track with his team Redline racing, and he doesn't hide the fact that he would like to try other forms of motorsport once his time in F1 is up.
Recently the Dutchman announced that he is working on starting his own GT3 team, and set 2025 as a deadline for the project to be realized.
Speaking in an interview with formule1.nl, Verstappen spoke how the idea behind the GT3 team project began; he said: "It all started with Team Redline in sim racing.
"With Verstappen.com Racing we are sponsoring and supporting various racing activities from people close to me. We are also active in DTM and the GTWC Sprint with Thierry Vermeulen [the son of Verstappen's manager Raymond Vermeulen] and with my father in rallying, but the end goal is to put together our own race team.
"We will start in the GT3 class and then we will see where the ship strands at some point. If it breaks..." he mused.

Verstappen: I wan to win even in this

As is the case in F1, Verstappen insists he plans to win with his GT3 venture which he hopes would become a stepping stone for racing talents from sim, as a cheaper option compared to making the journey through the expensive Karting path.
"When I do something, I want to do it well," he said. "I want to win, even with this. And it's about being able to create a stepping stone from sim racing to GT3. So that you can not only end up in motorsport through karting, because that costs a lot of money at the moment."
Asked about the future of his venture; the double F1 Champion said: "Well, of course you never know how things will turn out, but ambitions are always there. Of course it depends on how many good people we will have in the team and how much know-how there is, but it would be nice if we could grow to the highest level in endurance racing.
"We are working on it at the moment," he said of the time frame. "Next year will be tight, but I would like to have it as soon as possible. Having a GT3 team in 2025 with a minimum of two cars should be possible.
"We have been working on it for a while. The planning phase is over, we are in action mode now," Verstappen concluded.
Verstappen currently leads the 2023 F1 Championship by 125 from teammate Sergio Perez, and has won ten races so far this season, the latest being the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix.
