Max Verstappen responded to being booed at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix in a cool manner, insisting he doesn't really care about it when he hears it from the top step of a Formula 1 podium.

The Miami International Autodrome grandstands were packed with Sergio Perez fans that were naturally unhappy when they saw their hero losing the race, having started from pole, to his teammate who started down from ninth.
It was an utterly dominant display by the Dutchman in Miami, that he was on Fernando Alonso's back by Lap 14 only, and overtook him into second by lap 15, something the Spaniard predicted would happen by Lap 25, being a man who knows a thing or two about F1 racing.
It was a drive that left Perez bewildered, his body language and post race comments saying as much after he lost his chance to lead the F1 Championship for the first time in his 13-year career in top flight.

Never mind the boos, winning is what matters

"If I were driving in the back nobody would be doing anything in terms of reaction," Verstappen commented on the booing he received, quoted by Sky Sports F1. "I think it is normal when you are winning and they don't like who is winning.
"It is something for me which is absolutely fine as long as I am standing on the top," he insisted, jokingly adding: "To me, the most important thing is I take the trophy home and they go back to their houses and they can... have a nice evening".
Perez said he couldn't match Verstappen's performance on Sunday in Miami, and the latter revealed he feels unbeatable with the dominant Red Bull squad, despite some challenges every now and then.
"I always feel unbeatable but sometimes other people also have a really good day and they can be close to you, match you, or be ahead," he said. "I think what is important is to try and be close to 100 per cent perfect every time.
"Yesterday [qualifying] wasn't perfect, so this weekend wasn't perfect, but it is a long season and I always try to be as close as possible to perfect," the winner of 38 grands prix concluded.
