Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur revealed he has a lot of ground to cover after joining the team in January while six weeks later he is now manning the Scuderia pit wall in Bahrain.

Vasseur took over the hottest seat in Formula 1, Ferrari Team Principal, back in January during a period where the team is suffering one of their longest Title droughts in their illustrious history.
Speaking about his impressions from his time at Ferrari so far; Vasseur said: "It’s very short notice, six weeks between day one and [the test] in Bahrain, and I have a lot to digest – it’s a big team!
"But the first feeling is very positive, the passion and the enthusiasm are there. So far everything is okay," the Frenchman added.
The new Ferrari boss was speaking to the media on the first day of the pre-season test in Bahrain; he expanded on atmosphere within the team.

Motivation within the team visible

"I think the motivation is perhaps more visible sometimes, I would say, and the passion around the team," he pointed out.
"But at the end, the motivation and the plan is the same. But there is no big difference, I think – when you are a racer you are a racer, no matter if you are in Italy or somewhere else."
Asked to reveal his first impressions from the team's new F1 car, the SF-23; Vasseur said: "It’s very early stages, but the first feeling was good.
"The most important [thing] was to do mileage and we had no issue – we were able to do the run plan. Everything is going well so far," he concluded.
Ferrari had Carlos Sainz at the wheel of the SF-23 in the morning session on Thursday, while Charles Leclerc took over in the afternoon.
The pair racked up 136 laps over the course of the first day, Sainz clocking the third fastest time, Leclerc the fourth.
