The 2024 Formula One season gets underway in March as Max Verstappen will look to win a remarkable fourth straight championship.
There will be several drivers looking to regularly win races at the Dutchman's expense, and perhaps even pose a challenge to his sustained title aspirations.
However, for some drivers further down the grid, winning a single race this year would represent monumental glory. Here, we will discuss the active drivers yet to win an individual Formula One event, who could be set to break their duck in 2024.
Lance Stroll
Lance Stroll entered the fifth year of his Formula One career in 2023, and he marked it with his first-ever top-10 finish in the drivers' standings.
Last year he also finished in the top five in the Australian, Sao Paulo, and Las Vegas Grand Prix, suggesting the Aston Martin has the raw power and he has the driving ability to threaten the frontrunners.
Stroll's front-of-the-grid potential is backed up by the odds offered by many bookmakers. bet365 for example offers him at 18/1 to win for the first time in the 2024 season.

With the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes machinery set to dominate yet again, Stroll will face a tall ask to win a Grand Prix in the sport's remarkably competitive settings. However, he is certainly the most likely star without a race win to his name, to change that this season.
Alex Albon
Alex Albon is another driver who has shown glimpses of winning potential in the past but will go into 2024 still looking for his first triumph.
While Stroll is not in the greatest position behind the wheel of the Aston Martin, Albon certainly has a tougher chance on his hands in attempting to win a Grand Prix for Williams.
The Thai driver believed
his car was the slowest in 2023, and there are unlikely to be drastic changes in straight-line speed going into the 2024 campaign. He did finish 13th last season though, which was impressive for a driver in one of the cars with the least power.
In the odds, Albon is offered at 22/1 to win his first race this year, suggesting his potential to win is somewhat realistic but he will require plenty of luck to go his way.
He climbed the Formula One podium on two occasions with Red Bull Racing in 2020, but he has not been able to replicate in Williams machinery since.
It would perhaps be the biggest story of
the exciting season to come if he could better his prior experience to become a champion in one of the weakest cars this year.
While both Stroll and Albon are the most likely drivers to win their maiden race this year, they will still be huge underdogs relative to the typical drivers at the front of the field. The hurdle of winning a Grand Prix while not driving for one of the leading teams is incredibly tough and is rarely ever bypassed by any driver.
This pair may well have to wait for one of the leading teams to come calling before they can harbour genuine race-winning expectations. However,
in 2024 they could benefit from being quiet outsiders who could pounce on any errors or faults from their powerful competitors in front.
