It was a bittersweet second free practice session at the Singapore Grand Prix for Ferrari as Kimi Raikkonen topped the timing sheets at the end of the day but his teammate Sebastian Vettel made an error and suffered the price.
Raikkonen's 1:38.699 was a fraction quicker than Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes driver a mere hundredth of a second shy of the top time in second place.
But not a good night for his title rival Vettel who clipped the wall hard around the hour mark, he limped back to the pits and never left as the car developed what appeared to be a leak. He only managed 12 laps, while Raikkonen managed 33.
Red Bull continued to show strong pace with Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo in third and fourth respectively, followed by Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas in fifth - the top five separated by six-tenths of a second.
Best of the Rest was Carlos Sainz in the Renault, his team using the Spec-3 power unit, ending the 90-minute session sixth, albeit 1.5 seconds down on the top time.
Haas driver Romain Grosjean was seventh on the timing screens, followed by Fernando Alonso in the McLaren, Vettel and Renault's Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the top ten.
