Silverstone will mark 75 years since Formula 1’s first Grand Prix with a major new attraction this August: the World Champions Collection, a landmark showcase honouring all ten British Formula 1 World Champions.

Set for unveiling at the 2025 Silverstone Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend from 22–24 August, the exhibition will bring together iconic machinery driven by Britain’s finest racers, from Mike Hawthorn’s 1958 Ferrari 246 to Jenson Button’s 2009 Brawn GP car. It will be the most complete public tribute to British F1 success ever staged at the venue where the championship began in 1950.
"Britain and Silverstone have such strong links with Formula 1 and we will be celebrating those in sensational style at the Festival this summer," said Silverstone Festival Event Director Nick Wigley.
“The World Champions Collection will be the most comprehensive celebration of F1’s 75th anniversary at the circuit where it all began. Never before has such a complete collection of title winners been assembled for all to enjoy. This is an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and not to be missed.”

A tribute to iconic cars and great Formula 1 drivers

The tribute opens with the car that earned Britain its first F1 title: Hawthorn’s scarlet Ferrari 246, the last front-engined car to win a championship. From there, the rear-engine revolution will be represented by Graham Hill’s 1962 B.R.M. P-578 ‘Old Faithful’, shipped in specially from the Revs Institute in Florida.
Jim Clark’s dominant 1963 Lotus 25 R4 will also feature, the same chassis he drove to seven wins in that season. Alongside it, one of John Surtees’s MV Agusta motorcycles will commemorate his unique feat of winning world titles on both two and four wheels.
Sir Jackie Stewart’s 1973 Tyrrell-Ford 006 is another confirmed highlight, with this year’s Festival also supporting his Race Against Dementia charity.
Completing the confirmed list is the Brawn GP BGP 001 driven by Jenson Button during his fairy-tale title-winning run in 2009.
