On the occasion of the Williams FW47 launch today at Silverstone, the team's new signing Carlos Sainz got the honour to shake down their 2025 Formula 1 challenger.

Made redundant by Ferrari, Sainz chose Williams for the next chapter of his career in the top flight. The team gave him the honour of taking the FW47 to track first during their allocated filming day program at the British Grand Prix venue. Teammate Alex Albon was also present.
Regarding this one latest car of 47 in their illustrious history, Williams reported: "The FW47 will be revealed in a bespoke one-off design, with the 2025 race livery being unveiled on 18th February at the F1 75 Live event at London’s O2 Arena."
At Silverstone, speaking after driving his first laps in the new Williams, Sainz said: "I can tell you everything went fine, which is good news: "An install lap of a newly-born car is always a bit tricky, but everything worked as it should and now we're ready to get into the run plan.
"I need to give feedback - the two or three things that I felt could be improved, or the feeling inside the cockpit that I want to talk to them about - then we'll get the car ready to run on slicks and probably start pushing it little by little," the Spaniard added when speaking to media including https://ukplanettools.co.uk
