Nico Rosberg's addition to the world of media as a commentator has added a superb new dimension into the mind of how a modern Formula 1 driver thinks and the 2016 World Champion's comments and insights into his former rivals are often revealing.
Rosberg has slipped into his new role as a pundit with ease and enthusiasm of a true fan and he gave his take on Max Verstappen's impressive recovery during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend following a week of intense criticism directed at the young Red Bull driver.
Verstappen - whose talent and speed are not in question - has been in the wars a few too many times this season, some of his incidents costing himself and his team points and possibly victories too.
Even his bosses had a rare public go at him for his antics which were exacerbated by the 20-year-old's infamous "head-butt" comment during the Thursday press conference at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Amid the storm of derision, Verstappen did his talking on track as he topped all three free practice sessions, qualified third and finished third to celebrate on the podium for only the second time so far this season.
The way Verstappen bounced back from adversity with his performance in Montreal clearly impressed Rosberg who said on his Vlog, "Verstappen: epic weekend! He showed a bit of Lewis Hamilton attitude to me this weekend."
"When Lewis is angry, he is at his best. He channels it into an unbelievable performance and I think Verstappen had some of that this weekend, so he gained this extra focus from the word go."
"He was first all the way through [practice], great qualifying, and finished third. I think that was a really good weekend from him."
The German's former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton finished fifth after a weekend in which he never quite found his comfort zone, while "Hammer-time" went AWOL.
Rosberg added, "Lewis: he had one of those off-weekends totally. Okay, he had an engine thing in the race, but even so, qualifying was still off. Typical for Lewis, these phases where he loses a bit of motivation when things don't go well."
