Nico Rosberg arrives in Singapore on the back foot, the Mercedes driver has not won a race since June and at Monza most recently failed to score any points but the German is adamant that the title race is far from over.
After his DNF in Italy Rosberg now finds himself trailing his title rival and teammate Lewis Hamilton by 53 points and acknowledges, "Obviously, Monza didn’t go to plan. It was gutting to miss out on a good result so close to the end."
The battle plan has now changed for Rosberg, "Now I approach the final seven races with the attitude that there’s nothing to lose. It’s maximum attack and I won’t be giving up the fight, no way."
Rosberg has yet to win a grand prix at the Marina Bay Circuit, a venue he enjoys, "Singapore is one of my favourite races, so that’s a good place to start. It’s so tough on everyone – physically and mentally – and I love that challenge."

"I was only a few thousandths off pole last year and feeling good for the race until a problem with the steering wheel ended my weekend," he recalled
"I know I’ve got the pace to win there, so I’m hoping for a clean weekend and a chance to unleash this silver beast under the lights," added Rosberg ,who will start his 179th Formula 1 race this weekend in Singapore.
To keep his title chances alive until the final race of this season, and have a crack at stealing the title from Hamilton, Rosberg needs to start winning on a regular basis.
Currently the season's victory tally is 7-3 in favour of Hamilton, and the championship points situation is 252 to 199 with Rosberg trailing and plenty work to do to catch up.
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel is the only driver to have won a grand prix so far this year and lies third in the championship with 178 points to his name.
