Formula 1 helmet design reveals are usually about the drivers wearing them, but Racing Bulls are turning the spotlight on their fans.

Racing Bulls drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson have launched an open brief on Airtasker, inviting Formula 1 fans to design a special edition pit crew helmet. The task runs from 9–30 September, with the winning design unveiled at the Qatar Grand Prix in December.
Unlike speculative fan art competitions, this is a paid brief with a £500 reward, giving fans and designers the chance to leave a mark on the paddock in a real, lasting way.
Hadjar and Lawson explained their motivation directly in the posted brief: “The pit crew have been crushing it, and we want to find someone who can design a special edition helmet for them – something wild, unforgettable, and creative as a thank you gift they'll never forget. They're the heartbeat of everything we do, so we want to create something as legendary as they are.”

Both drivers will personally review submissions on Airtasker and select their favourite concept, with the chosen Tasker then assigned to bring the design to life. The finished helmet will be revealed to the crew and worn during the Qatar weekend, closing out the 2025 season with a fan-made creation.
Airtasker Founder and CEO Tim Fung welcomed the collaboration, saying: “It’s awesome to see VCARB Formula 1 drivers turning to Airtasker to find creative talent – it proves that anyone can get anything done on our platform. This task captures what Airtasker is all about: celebrating skill and individuality that lead to amazing opportunities.
"It’s not every day that everyday people get the chance to leave their mark on the world of F1. Motorsport is driven by passion and precision, just like the Airtasker community – so whether you're a designer, a racing fan, or just someone with a wild idea, this is your moment.”
The task is listed as “Need Crazy and Creative Ideas for F1 Helmet” and is open until 30 September. Fans and creatives with “big, bold, and badass” ideas now have the rare chance to influence what the Racing Bulls pit crew will wear under the lights of Lusail this December.
