Pilbeam leaves Lotus to join McLaren

Mark Webber's former Red Bull Race Engineer Ciaron Pilbeam has joined McLaren after just a year with Lotus as Chief Engineer.

McLaren is strengthening its technical team in the wake of a well below par 2013 season, in which the team failed to score a single podium finish.

Pilbeam is the latest of several senior personnel members to depart Lotus amid reports of financial problems afflicting the Enstone based outfit ahead of the 2014 season. (GP247)
