Force India driver Esteban Ocon will have to drop down five positions on the starting grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday due to a gearbox change on his car ahead of the race at Interlagos.
During the previous race in Mexico, Force India detected a problem with the gearbox and decided to make a change which in turn triggered the five-place grid penalty and puts The Pinks on the backfoot on race day as they battle for sixth place in the championship.
Five other drivers have had a new gearbox fitted this weekend, they are Lewis Hamilton, Kevin Magnussen, Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll and Daniel Ricciardo. These drivers will not receive grid penalties since they are in compliance with the regulations.
