Lando Norris enjoyed the latest upgrade McLaren have installed on his car and made the best of it to take his third win in the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Norris has always expressed his struggles earlier in the season with his MCL39, but McLaren have brought a new suspension just for his car to help him feel more comfortable.
And the Briton made the best use of that upgrade, taking a dominant pole, which he transformed into a win at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix, soaking up the massive pressure from teammate Oscar Piastri and keeping the Australian at bay after a tense battle that kept their team as well as spectators at the edge of their seats.
Reflecting on his seventh Formula 1 career win in McLaren's race report, Norris said: "I'm very happy with the result; a 1-2 is the perfect finish for us as a team.
"Oscar and I had a great battle, which was a lot of fun, and we were able to maximize the pace of the car and the strategy.
"Thanks to the team for the upgrades and all of their work to get us to a place where the car was able to pull away. Now, onto my favorite weekend of the year, Silverstone," he concluded.
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella hailed Norris for his performance in Spielberg on Sunday. He said: "Lando drove a perfect weekend with a dominant Pole position, which he managed to convert into his third victory of the season.
"A perfect conclusion to a very competitive weekend," Stella went on, "and a nice way to bounce back after a tough week in Canada.
"It's been made possible by great work from the trackside team and also a wonderful effort from everyone at the factory to deliver an upgrade that has made the MCL39 a faster car," Stella concluded.
Norris managed to reduce the gap to Piastri in the 2025 F1 drivers' standings to 15 points after the gap grew following the race in Canada when the Briton retired after crashing into his teammate.
