Lando Norris escaped further penalties for his infringement of the aborted start of the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix and was given a reprimand and a fine.
Lance Stroll crashed his Aston Martin during the formation lap and race control aborted the start of the Grand Prix as a result.
But polesitter Norris, went on another formation lap as well as George Russell who was second on the grid with some other drivers following.
As a result, Norris, Russell, as well as Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson were investigated for violating the procedure of the aborted start.
As a result Norris was given a reprimand and required to pay a fine of €5000, which also applied to Russell, as both drivers were on the front row as their actions "precipitated" those of drivers behind them.
Hence, no action was taken against Lawson and Tsunoda were found that they have "breached the regulation" but were "influenced by the driver ahead" of them and as such were "not predominately responsible for the breach" according to the statement from the stewards.
Russell, and seven-time
Formula 1 champion teammate Lewis Hamilton were also summoned by the stewards after the race after Mercedes adjusted the tyre pressures on their respective W15s while the wheels were on the car.
Both drivers escaped any penalties but Mercedes was order to pay a €5000 for every car.
Carlos Sainz also received a reprimand for moving his crashed Ferrari while the marshals were trying to clear it from the track.
Nico Hulkenberg who spun during the race was given a black flag, which meant he was disqualified for receiving assistance from the marshals to return to the race.
