Lando Norris is targeting points at the upcoming 2023 Canadian Grand Prix this weekend, after failing to do so in Barcelona despite starting from third on the grid.

McLaren's struggles do not seem to be going away any time soon, and while both Norris and Oscar Piastri qualified third and tenth respectively for the Spanish Grand Prix, they went backwards in the race.
Piastri to finish 13th while Norris was 17th at the flag, the latter's first lap incident, where he ended up with a damaged front not helping his cause as he had to pit for repairs early on, meaning he dropped down too far to recover.
"Spain was a tough race but there was a lot to take away for both me and the team including the positive of Saturday's P3 in Quali," Norris said in McLaren's Canada preview.
"With a week off from racing following a double-header, I've been back at the MTC with my engineers in preparation for this weekend," he revealed. "Circuit Gilles-Villenueve can be challenging with its heavy-braking chicanes, but it can also be a lot of fun to race. I'm excited for it, and hopefully we can score some points."

Marshall brings brains and lap time to McLaren

McLaren have been going through some major changes since the start of this season, with Andreas Seidl leaving to join the Audi/Sauber project, and was replaced by Andrea Stella, and as the team's 2023 Formula 1 car turned out to be lacking, Technical Director James Key was shown the door, and ended up joining Seidl at Sauber.
McLaren have done a major restructure of their technical department and poached Red Bull's design chief Rob Marshall, a move announced ahead of the grand prix in Spain.
Asked about the hiring of Marshall, and what he brings to the table Norris told Motorsport.com: "Just knowledge, expertise. He's been at Red Bull for many, many years, he's seen a lot of success with the team.
"He's been with some of the best minds within Formula 1 and he's definitely part of that group. So, brains and lap time I guess are the two big things. He's a big person, a big signing for us as a team, so I think someone that a lot of people within McLaren will look up to, and respect and so on," he explained.
"It is also a good step for us as a team to keep this drive forward, continuing to add performance and expertise too," the Briton maintained.
McLaren are currently sixth in the 2023 F1 Constructors' Championship on 17 points only.
