The Rally of Poland (Rajd Polski)
This is a motorsport event established over 100 years ago. It is an annual meeting for rally cars and is the third-oldest of its kind. Speedway Grand Prix of Poland
This motorsport event forms part of the World Championship Speedway Grand Prix series. There are now three rounds due to the popularity of the sport. In 2022, there were four events. These were in Warsaw, Gorzów, Wrocław, and Toruń. Other host cities include Bydgoszcz and Lublin.
The two racers with the most wins are both Polish with brothers who are also speedway racers. Bartosz Zmarzlik has won the event 9 times. Zmarzlik also has individual honors as the 4-times World Champion, World Under-21 Champion, Polish Champion, and GP Challenge Winner. Zmarkzlik also won the Polish Sports Personality of the Year award in 2020, being only the second speedway racer to win it.
Tomasz Gollob has won the Speedway Grand Prix of Poland 8 times and appeared in every series from 1995 until 2013. He also won the World Cup four times.
Many Polish Speedway Grand Prix fans also like to combine visiting a popular casino at the end of the day’s racing. This, of course, depends on the location of the Grand Prix, but if it’s in Warsaw or Krakow, you’ll have the best opportunities.
The Mieczysław Połukard Criterium of Polish Speedway Leagues Aces
This event occurs annually and is viewed as the official opening of the speedway season. The event takes place in the Polonia Stadium in Bydgoszcz.
European Truck Racing Championship
This is a truck road racing series designed for semi-tractors. It is held annually with around 17 drivers. This is held at Tor Poznań, a 2.54-mile race track with an asphalt surface. There are 14 turns on the full circuit. The smaller circuit for karts measures just under a mile and has 21 turns.
For truck racing, the best lap record was achieved by Norbert Kiss in 2023 in a time of 1:57.983.
