The final countdown for Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes career begins this weekend at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and Toto Wolff insists the team wants to end the relationship on a high.

Three more races and Hamilton will become a Ferrari driver and will be hoping to put the final three disappointing seasons with Mercedes behind him, as the eight-time Formula 1 constructors' champions failed to build a competitive car based on the ground-effect aero regulations launched in 2022.
The final stage of the Hamilton-Mercedes era starts this weekend in Las Vegas, as both parties will be hoping to bounce back after a dismal weekend in Sao Paulo, as the W15 was probably at the worst it has been all season with its bouncing tendency resurfacing.
Previewing the triple header, Wolff said: "We head to Las Vegas ready to tackle the final three races of the season. We are focused on ending this year as strongly as possible and providing some more highlights as we close out 2024.
"We are looking forward to the races ahead, to ending our incredible journey with Lewis on a high and to building momentum for 2025," he vowed.
"We are excited for our return to Las Vegas. F1 put on an incredible show last year and the sight of F1 cars racing down the Strip at night was one of the season's highlights."
The Austrian revealed some fun he had at Vegas; he added: "The opportunity to do 180 mph down such an iconic piece of real estate in a high-powered Mercedes-AMG GT R was one that I couldn't turn down.
"I was therefore fortunate to take some of our partners on hot laps of the track and it was an experience that I, and I hope also they, won't forget."
As to his expectations from the weekend ahead, Wolff said: "The circuit itself and ambient conditions provided a fascinating challenge for both the drivers and teams, along with creating exciting racing and a captivating Grand Prix.
"I am sure this year's event will be an even greater success, and build on the continued growth, interest, and success of our sport in the USA," he concluded.
Despite all the talk about finishing on a high with Hamilton, the state of Mercedes' W15 makes such an achievement in doubt.
It should also be mentioned that some trading of swipes has been going on recently, with Wolff recently saying he was glad Hamilton took the decision to leave so he wouldn't have to fire him when his shelf life is over.
