Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said his team will be taking their learnings from a tough Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah into this weekend's Formula 1 race in Miami.

Mercedes struggled in the heat of the weekend in Jeddah, and as a result, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were fifth and sixth, respectively, at the chequered flag which was the second time in the opening five races of 2025 that the eight-time F1 constructors' champions did not feature on the podium, the first being the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Wolff-led team have had an encouraging start to their 2025 campaign, but the struggle in hotter conditions has become a trend related to their cars over the past few seasons.
"We have had a good start to the season, but we have no sense of entitlement or complacency," Wolff said in Mercedes' preview of Miami. "We want to continue and build on the positive trajectory we have established so far in the first five races."
But with temperatures expected to be high in Miami as well, Mercedes are hoping that data and lessons learned from the previous race in Jeddah would help them deliver better results in the first race stateside this season.
Wolff added: "Saudi Arabia was a more challenging Grand Prix, but with temperatures high and the same tyre compound range as in Jeddah, we have plenty of learnings we can take into this weekend.
"We are therefore hopeful of a more competitive showing," he concluded.
Mercedes' strong start to the 2025 season means they are currently second in the F1 constructors' standings with 111 points, 77 points behind leaders McLaren.
Russell is fourth in the drivers' standings with 73 points, while Antonelli is sixth with 38 points.
