Mercedes and Williams became the latest teams to announce the date of the reveal of their 2026 Formula 1 cars, the F1W17 and the FW48, respectively.
Both teams issued statements on Monday, with Mercedes setting January 22 as the date when they first show off their W17, while Williams present the livery of their FW48 on February 3.
"New Power Unit. New advanced sustainable fuel developed by PETRONAS. New aerodynamic regulations. The next generation of F1 is nearly upon us," Mercedes said in a statement.
They added: "The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team continues its journey towards that horizon on Thursday 22nd January as images of our 2026 car, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W17 E PERFORMANCE, will be seen for the first time."
Mercedes will reveal the images before the first preseason closed test in Barcelona, which will take place between January 26 and 30.
After that, the eight-time F1 Constructors' Champions will hold a season launch on February 2, where team boss Toto Wolff and drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will be in attendance alongside technical staff who will explain the changes in the new generation of cars.
A striking new look for Williams
As for Williams, they will reveal their 2026 racing livery for the FW48 on February 3, which will also be a new look for the team.
Regarding testing, Williams said they "will begin the year with a special fan-designed livery which will be on the car for testing in Barcelona" adding that the design was voted on by "supporters from 162 countries" and went on to describe their permanent 2026 livery as a "striking look".
Touching on the 2026 sweeping regulation changes, Williams insisted it is an opportunity and said in their statement: "The biggest rule change in a generation is a reset opportunity.
"Williams has been building towards it as the next step on the team’s path back to Championship contention.
"The team enters 2026 with huge momentum, having enjoyed its most successful season for nine years in 2025.
"Williams finished fifth in the Constructors’ Championship with 137 points, secured podium finishes in Baku and Qatar, and took home its first-ever Sprint podium in Austin," the statement concluded.
