McLaren will celebrate its 1,000th Formula 1 race this weekend in Monaco with a special collaboration with the LEGO Group, unveiling race helmets for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri that are based on new LEGO Editions collector sets released on Tuesday.

The two helmets, which will be worn by Norris and Piastri during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, were developed jointly by the drivers and LEGO designers. They combine each driver's signature colours with elements of McLaren's special 1,000th race livery.
The launch also marks the first time both drivers appear as LEGO minifigures in dedicated helmet sets. Each model contains 793 pieces and includes a display stand, signature plaque and driver minifigure.
Piastri's helmet set features McLaren's papaya colours alongside his preferred blue design theme, while Norris' version recreates his distinctive fluorescent helmet style and includes his championship-winning number 1.
McLaren Chief Marketing Officer Louise McEwen said: "Our partnership with the LEGO Group is rooted in a shared commitment to creativity, innovation and inspiring the next generation of fans.
"This launch captures that perfectly Seeing our drivers' helmet designs reimagined through LEGO creativity and then brought to life on the track at Monaco, is a powerful expression of what we can achieve together," McEwen said.

A true co-creation process

The LEGO Group's Chief Product & Marketing Officer Julia Goldin said the products were developed through a close collaboration involving both drivers and McLaren Racing.
"It's been a true co-creation process, where our LEGO design team worked closely with the drivers and McLaren Racing to develop these special 1000th race LEGO helmet products," Goldin said.
"Now fans will be able to build the sets at home, creating a cool memento of racing history for display."
The special helmets form part of McLaren's celebrations for a milestone weekend as the team reaches 1,000 Formula 1 starts, a landmark achieved by only a handful of constructors in the sport's history.
Daniel Meehan, Creative Lead for LEGO Formula 1, said the project challenged designers to recreate the distinctive shapes and graphics of modern racing helmets in brick form while incorporating ideas from both drivers.
The LEGO Editions McLaren helmets are available globally from 3 June, with the race versions making their track debut when Formula 1 returns to the streets of Monaco this weekend.
