Jan.30 (PVM) Feipe Massa realizes that 2012 is a make or break year for him in Formula 1 and determined to make an immediate impact this year with a view to staying with the Maranello squad in 2013 and beyond.
Speaking to TotalRace he said, "As for the future, the first half of the championship is more important than the second. What I want is to have a different year [to 2011], starting in a different manner, because I think if you have a good first part of the season, it impacts on how things will go into the future. I'm with a great team and a great team works things out well before."
The Brazilian did not score a podium throughout 2011 and has not won a Grand Prix since his victory in 2008 at his home race in Sao Paulo.
Massa, 30, is also unhappy with the current state of play, where drivers can buy their way in to teams, "Apart from the big four who do not need a driver who brings money, which to me is absurd. I don't think it is positive for F1 in general, for drivers and for the youngsters."
"A young driver who has won all the championships on his way up, needs to be lucky or have money to get a drive in F1. I don't think this is F1," added Massa.
