Kevin Magnussen was back racing last weekend as he took part in the Gulf 12 Hours race at Yas Marina, sharing MDK Motorsports-run Ferrari 488 GT3 with father Jan.

Magnussen's father Jan, a former Formula 1 racer himself, contested 25 grands prix, one with McLaren and the rest with Stewart between 1995 and 1998, his best result being a sixth place at the 1998 Canadian Grand Prix.
After F1, Magnussen senior enjoyed a successful sports car career, claiming four 24 Hours of Le Mans class victories and a class win at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
The Magnussens shared their Ferrari 488 GT3 with American racer Mark Kvamme, and they qualified 15th in a 34-car grid, but managed to finish the race seventh overall.
Kevin Magnussen said after the race, quoted by the official Gulf 12 Hours website: "It has been great to spend the weekend like this with my dad; we had a lot of fun.
"We have been talking racing all our lives and doing this, you go another level deeper, which is really cool," the Dane added.

Magnussen junior grabbing opportunity to race with his dad while he can

Before going into the race, the Haas F1 driver said: "We’re going to get a few laps in the car before going to Abu Dhabi with it. But, of course, it’s something that I’m really excited about.
"Racing with my dad is always something that I enjoy a lot. It’s such a special thing that we’re still both active racing drivers at the same time," he admitted. "He’s not that old, so I feel like I have to grab the opportunity, as much as I can, while he’s still in good shape and fast.
"It’s the first time that we’re going to drive in a GT car together and I think he’s going to be pretty hard to beat in that one, but we’ll see!" the one-time F1 polesitter concluded.
Kevin Magnussen made his comeback to F1 in 2022 after a year on the sidelines, drafted in the last minute to replace Nikita Mazepin, and had an impressive return, scoring points on six occasions while claiming his first ever career pole position at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
