Lewis Hamilton says first Formula 1 win with Ferrari more in sight than ever before

While he won the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix Sprint, Hamilton did not stand on the podium of a Grand Prix once in his first season with Ferrari as he struggled with the car and was comprehensively bettered by teammate Charles Leclerc.

However, a rejuvenated Hamilton showed up in the 2026 F1 paddock and is clearly enjoying the new SF-26 Ferrari have put at his disposal.

Speaking to the media in Shanghai on Sunday after the Chinese Grand Prix, the Briton said: "I definitely feel like I’m back to my best, both mentally and physically. I still think there’s room to improve.

"I definitely feel that I could say that it’s ​more in sight than ever before," he added when asked about his chances of taking a first win with the Scuderia in 2026.

"Last year it couldn’t have been further from view," he admitted. "I really do believe in everyone back in Maranello and that it’s not an impossible feat ​to overcome. So yeah, Forza Ferrari, we’ve just got to keep pushing."

Hamilton credited Ferrari for considering all the feedback he has provided during the development of the 2026 red single seater which helped him feel more integrated within the team.

He said: “To see them listen and put some of those things that I’d asked for on the car I’m just incredibly grateful to them for listening on that side of things.

“It just makes you feel more united with everyone because you’re moving in the same direction. I’m looking forward to getting back next week to Maranello and seeing everybody.
