Charles Leclerc crashed his Ferrari even before the action started in the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Sprint Race after ending up in the wall while on a reconnaissance lap in wet conditions.

The skies opened up ahead of the Formula 1 Sprint Race in Miami on Saturday and Ferrari sent Leclerc out on track on Intermediate tyres in what were clearly full wet conditions.
Leclerc's teammate Lewis Hamilton who made it to the grid in one piece told the team: "I don't know how you put us on inters here."
Leclerc, after crashing reported aquaplaning and said he would try to get the car back but his SF-25 was two damaged and he had to park it on the side of the track with a fully demolished right side as well as the rear wing.
Leclerc was supposed to start from sixth place, which is the position he qualified in on Saturday after a Sprint Qualifying session that saw Mercedes' Kimi Antonello grab pole.
Hamilton will start from seventh as the sixth grid box will remain empty once the green light for the race is given.
What made this sting more for Leclerc is that the rain eased off just after he crashed, but quite a lot of standing water remained on track with the start and its manner (standing or rolling) remains to be specified with the Safety Car doing laps exploring the conditions of the track.
