Force India reserve Nicolas Latifi will be doing three FP1 sessions in the remaining four races of the season, starting with a morning stint in the car on the first day of free practice of the United States Grand Prix weekend on Friday at Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
The team announced on Twitter:
Latifi will replace Esteban Ocon in Texas and Mexico, while Sergio Perez will give up his cockpit at the penultimate round of the world championship in Brazil.
The Canadia has already run in three FP1 sessions this season with the Pinks: the first time at his home track and followed that up with tuns at Hockenheim and Sochi.
Coincidentally, Latifi, the son of Canadian billionaire Michael Latifi, will be on duty for the team recently saved by fellow Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll. Earlier this year Latifi senior bought a 10% stake in McLaren.
