The last time F1 came to Las Vegas was 41 years ago. The 1982 Caesars Palace Grand Prix was the last race on the season's calendar and decided both the Drivers' Championship and the Constructors' Championship that year.

Despite finishing only sixth, Williams' Keke Rosberg clinched the former while Ferrari took the latter without scoring a point in the race. Outsider Michele Alboreto won the race for Tyrell: the constructor's first Grand Prix win in four years.
This season's November 18 return to the Las Vegas Strip marks the penultimate race in 2023, with only the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the UAE still to come. Both Championship winners are already decided with World Champion Max Verstappen heading to Las Vegas 266 points ahead of the second-placed driver, his Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez.
Red Bull Racing has an unassailable lead in the Constructors' Championship, so only the minor placings for the season are still up for grabs. Scuderia Ferrari can still overtake Mercedes for the second Constructors' position by scoring 21 more points over the race weekend.
The likelihood of a surprise result equivalent to the Alboreto Tyrell one of 1982 seems remote at best. Bettors looking for history to repeat itself would need to back Pierre Gasly or Esteban Ocon's Alpines, both at +25000 in the betting, for the Las Vegas GP win.

Favorites for the Las Vegas Grand Prix

With the dominance of Red Bull Racing this season compared with Ferrari's last-gasp Constructor's win back then, the chances of this result happening are nigh impossible. According to offshore sportsbooks, firm favorite Verstappen should cruise to his 18th victory of 2023, with race odds of -350.
The Flying Dutchman's Red Bull's dominance this season means that even the on-form Lando Norris of McLaren (+800) and the experienced Lewis Hamilton (+1200) in the Mercedes are well-priced second and third favorites for the race next Sunday.
Other potential podium finishers include Pérez (+1600) in the second Red Bull and the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc (+2200) and Carlos Sainz (+2500). If you can make it to the Las Vegas Strip on 18 November to watch the event live, you'll have plenty of betting options available. If you can't, there are still many ways to take advantage of the race odds on offer, though.
Rather than traveling to your nearest retail sportsbook, which may be hours away, you can use online sportsbooks to bet anywhere you have a connection in all US states (source: https://www.techopedia.com/gambling/best-online-sportsbooks). Many are offering excellent prices on drivers other than Verstappen if any of the other contestants listed above sound appealing.
Race favorites aren't the only favorites you'll find at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. If you can make it to the opening ceremony on Wednesday night, you can experience some of your favorite artists from the entertainment world as well. John Legend, Keith Urban, Journey, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and a host of others will perform live to open the event.
Latecomers shouldn't despair. On the Saturday evening before Sunday's race, Kylie Minogue, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Mark Ronson, and more will provide the live entertainment.
For F1 supporters, sports bettors, and music fans alike, the extended Las Vegas Grand Prix is the place to be. You'll enjoy a fun-filled, action-packed experience culminating in the world's top racing drivers competing for both points and prestige.
Drivers will battle it out for 50 laps of the 3.853-mile temporary street circuit built around the renowned Las Vegas Strip. Whoever takes the checkered flag will join Alan Jones and Michele Alboreto as the only F1 winners in this famous sports, gambling, and entertainment destination.
