Lando Norris admitted he needs to chill out a bit and release a bit of the pressure he has put on himself recently as he plans to get back to the top of the Formula 1 drivers' championship.

Norris finished fourth in the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, a race he started from tenth after crashing in qualifying, while his teammate Oscar Piastri beat Max Verstappen to take the lead in the F1 drivers' standings.
That comes after another tough weekend for the Briton in Bahrain, where he qualified sixth but finished third despite driving a messy, error-ridden race.
The pressure is piling up on Norris as he faces challenges with Piastri as well as Verstappen, and he admits he is not helping with his approach.
He said: "I’m probably putting a bit too much pressure on myself at the minute, not because of any [particular] reason, and not because of the championship and all these things.
"I just put too much pressure on myself because I want to do well, like I want to do so well," he explained. "I want to be pole, I want to win, I want to be perfect, and I think I need to accept a little bit more that I’m not going to be perfect, and I’m making mistakes because I’m trying to be perfect, rather than the other way around."
Norris now has a break ahead of the next race in Miami, the venue of his first-ever F1 career win back in 2024, and is hoping for a reset and a more relaxed approach, trusting his abilities.
He added: "I think I just need to chill out a little bit and have a bit more trust in my speed, because my speed today, and my speed in every race this season, has been, I think, the best.
"I’m very confident that I can win the races if I just give myself a better chance on Saturday. It’s easier said than done, and I need to go out and do a better job on Saturdays, but that’s what I’ll be working on," Norris concluded.
Norris is currently ten points behind Piastri in the 2025 F1 drivers' championship with 19 races remaining.
