Max Verstappen's father Jos has poured cold water on rumours of a driver change at Red Bull, suggesting initial reports as to who is partnering his son next year might be wide of the mark.

Taking to social media early on Friday morning, the elder Verstappen, who is himself a veteran of 107 Formula 1 grands prix, offered the rebuke in response to a post by F1 journo Chris Medland.
Medland, who retweeted a post from Dutch journo Erik van Haren announcing Red Bull's signing of Sergio Perez in place of Alexander Albon, commented "Erik knew where Jos was in Bahrain, and now he's reporting Red Bull has chosen Perez to replace Albon in 2021, with Albon dropping to reserve. Seems like he's right on this one..." to which Verstappen replied: "Don’t state something what [sic] is not true."
The reference Medland makes to "where Jos was in Bahrain" is in regards to the former's mistaken belief Verstappen senior was in the paddock at the Bahrain Grand Prix talking to Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, which drew the ire of the Verstappens before van Haren cleared things up.
Now it appears Verstappen is again refuting a claim from Medland, although with an announcement of Red Bull's driver lineup expected today, the truth remains to be seen...
