Jad Mallak, GRANDPRIX247 editor, an engineer by trade, passionate about all things motorsports (and BMW), and very handy on... the Oud. With that in mind, we challenged him to do the Formula 1 Theme unplugged and, needless to say, the Oud Dude obliged.
Of course, as he does so meticulously and relentlessly covering the F1 narrative for our readers, Jad rose to the challenge and delivered this piece, composed for F1 by Brian Tyler, which will be our 2023 World Championship theme, for a momentous season ahead.
Jad credits sums up in the video intro: "In addition to music, another passion of mine is motorsport and Formula 1 in particular, and on the eve of the 2023 season, I saw it fit to give tribute for my favorite sport and hobby.
"The original theme is performed by a full philharmonic orchestra, so it was always going to be a challenge to perform it with the #oud alone, but I did my best and I hope you enjoy it."
