Jack Doohan is not bothered by speculation regarding his Alpine Formula 1 seat in the aftermath of Franco Colapinto's signing as a reserve driver for the team.

Doohan has long-served as Alpine's third driver and when Esteban Ocon was announced to be leaving to Haas, the Australian was given a full-time seat alongside Pierre Gasly for 2025.
With Ocon shown the door before the end of the 2024 F1 season, missing out on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with Alpine, Doohan made an earlier debut, finishing 15th.
But then matters took a turn as Alpine signed Colapinto to be their reserve driver, the Argentine having impressed when replacing Logan Sargeant at Williams mid-2024.
That cast a doubt on Doohan's future with Alpine, with reports claiming he has around six races to prove his worth. Otherwise, the team's executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, will replace him with Colapinto.
But speaking to Sky Sports F1 at the Autosport Awards, Doohan brushed off any concerns about his future. He said: "I’m very motivated.
"I look forward, to be honest, to just getting on track and doing the work with my hands and my feet and steering that car as best as I can," he added.
Asked about his feelings after becoming a full-time member of the F1 world, the 22-year-old said: "It’s a super special time for me, I’m stoked to be a part of it.
"It’s super special. I’ve been watching these guys ever since I was a little boy, especially Lewis," the Alpine driver added, reflecting on being one of six F1 rookies in 2025 driving alongside some of the sport's all-time greats.
“So to be coming in to be one of the 20 drivers on the grid, it’s super special and I look forward to just cementing my place here for the future," he concluded.
Responding to reports about Doohan's future, Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes insisted the Aussie will be given a fair chance to prove himself.
