You have been warned this report is 'not' how the grid will look at the Singapore Grand Prix next month.
Just a bit of fun speculating if we controlled the puppet strings of the Formula 1 circus this is how a driver line-up might look taking into consideration the Silly Season and some unexpected non-fiction moves since the summer break.
In the light of everything that has happened in recent weeks: Why not release Carlos Sainz and give Daniel Ricciardo an early intro to Renault?
This would allow Red Bull to get an eight-race taste of Pierre Gasly who they have promoted from Toro Rosso and Carlos could pop over to McLaren and replace increasingly frustrated Fernando Alonso.
When will Lance Stroll get the call-up from his father Lawrence of Force India? Make that happen then give Robert Kubica the break we all want him to have with Williams.
Why not Stoffel Vandoorne to Sauber? Esteban Ocon to McLaren? Charles Leclerc to Haas? Sebastien Buemi back at Toro Rosso? Romain at home cooking and chilling with his lovely family?
And McLaren allow Fernando to ride off into the sunset without financial penalty and with some dignity after a fine career in the top flight.
The double world champ is clearly treading water to see out his contract because walking out or ending it early is likely to hit him in the pocket. Grin and bear it seems to be his tactic.
Another eight races of humiliation, driving that sh!tbox McLaren built him this year will be tough to witness.
With all that in mind, how cool would it be if the Singapore Grand Prix entry list looked like this:
- 44. Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes
- 77. Valtteri Bottas - Mercedes
- 10. Pierre Gasly - Red Bull
- 33. Max Verstappen - Red Bull
- 40. Robert Kubica - Williams
- 35. Sergey Sirotkin - Williams
- 5. Sebastien Vettel - Ferrari
- 7. Kimi Raikkonen - Ferrari
- 31. Esteban Ocon - McLaren
- 55. Carlos Sainz - McLaren
- 18. Lance Stroll - Force India
- 11. Sergio Perez - Force India
- 28. Brendon Hartley - Toro Rosso
- 88. Sebastien Buemi - Toro Rosso
- 27. Nico Hulkenberg - Renault
- 3. Daniel Ricciardo - Renault
- 9. Marcus Ericsson - Sauber
- 2. Stoffel Vandoorne - Sauber
- 16. Charles Leclerc - Haas
- 20. Kevin Magnussen - Haas
None of these options are more outrageous than we have seen happen in reality this season, starting with the Red Bull to Honda announcement and everything that has followed as a consequence of that.
For the sake of this silly Silly Season doodle, au revoir Grosjean, for obvious reasons, and adios Alonso for the reasons already mentioned.
Big Question: Any alt.F1 entry lists out there?
