Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was met with a hostile reception from thousands of fans at the O2 Arena during Formula 1’s 75th anniversary event on Tuesday night.

The showcase F1 75 LIVE event, which saw all 10 teams reveal their liveries for the 2025 season, was meant to be a celebratory occasion. However, when Horner took centre stage to introduce Red Bull’s latest challenger, he was drowned out by a chorus of boos from the audience.
Footage circulating on social media captured the moment the 51-year-old faced the backlash, though he pressed on with his speech while alone on stage.
Earlier in the night, event host Jack Whitehall added to the awkwardness, jokingly introducing Horner as “Geri Halliwell’s plus one” in reference to his wife, the former Spice Girls star. Halliwell was also present at the event.
It was not only Horner who faced a frosty reception during F1 75 LIVE. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen was also booed by sections of the crowd.
The FIA was another target of the crowd’s frustration, with fans voicing their displeasure over several recent decisions, including the introduction of stricter swearing regulations for drivers in 2025.
In contrast, Hamilton and the oldest driver on the grid, Fernando Alonso, received the loudest cheers of the night, underlining their enduring popularity ahead of the new season, while the appearnace of Ferrari illicted roars that might've blown the roof off the arena.
