Lewis Hamilton has been reprimanded for reversing in the pit lane after claiming pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The FIA race stewards investigated a breach of the F1 rules by the reigning world champion after he returned to the pit lane at the end of qualifying.
The incident breached Article 28.3 of the FIA's sporting regulations, which state: "at no time may a car be reversed in the pit lane under its own power".
After listening to Hamilton and a Mercedes team representative, officials decided not to impose a penalty "due to the fact that no clear instruction was given to the driver on where he should park the car after qualifying".
Although he was found guilty of the infringement, Hamilton escaped with an official reprimand and will start the race from pole position.
