While Silverstone and Formula 1 under Liberty Media thrash out a deal, for the future amid speculation that London are also vying for a Grand Prix, Britain's five-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is keen to see the race remain at the iconic Silverstone Circuit.
The 'dream' of a London Grand Prix is not new and is more fantasy than a real possibility of happening. Many questions arise including these crucial few: Where will it be held? Who will pay for the exercise? Are two F1 races in Britain sustainable?
Asked about the prospect of the British Grand Prix moving away from Silverstone, Hamilton was clear, "The UK is the foundation of what this sport is and if you start taking away the legendary races and it's all just new ones, you lose all the history and culture of F1.
'So I truly believe they have to keep F1 in the UK and particularly Silverstone. It's such an awesome track and such an awesome place," added Hamilton who has won there five times, tied with Jim Clark and Alain Prost.
Should the Mercedes driver win the 53rd running of the race next month, with six wins he will become the most successful F1 driver at the venue.

Big Question: How important is the British Grand Prix for F1?
