Lewis Hamilton may have been robbed of victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, but off track he may have bagged a big prize as he is being linked romantically with fashion model Gigi Hadid - and tabloids are going to town with the story.
The pair fueled numerous reports during Formula 1's most glamourous and high profile weekend on the Cote D'Azure, with Hamilton and Hadid pictured enjoying one another's company at the Cinema Against AIDS gala for amfAR at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the Thursday night before the race.
The budding romance between the pair soon became the talk of Cannes with tabloids reporting that a source close to the couple confirmed, "They've been on a couple of dates. It's on!"
Earlier this year Hamilton split from his on-off off pop star girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, and the double world champion claimed he became far stronger emotionally and mentally this year as a result of the experience.
Lewis said of the break-up with Scherzinger, "Of course, in the previous years it has been the case where it's affected my life in general. Last year, I adopted, maybe the word is a mental attitude that was impenetrable.
"But I feel that I still carry that kind of mentality from last year and whilst it's not been easy, I feel stronger than ever. Having been in this position before, I don't feel that it's going to be a problem," he added.
Meanwhile in Monaco, Hamilton shared a snap of himself hanging out with Hadid and her buddies, including reality TV star Kendall Jenner and Hayley Baldwin - all wearing matching Mercedes baseball caps.
Hadid, daughter of Palestinian real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch former model Yolanda Foster, was named one of 12 rookies in Sports Illustrated′s annual swimsuit issue in 2014 (pictured above) and she has also made several appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
In the race on Sunday, Hamilton looked set for a comfortable victory on the twists and turns of Monte Carlo, but a blunder by his Mercedes team cost him the win and relegated him to third. He was clearly gutted by the incident.
But Hadid consoled the reigning world champion with a Tweet after the race: "We love you @lewishamilton. Everyone knows you da champ. #TEAMLH."
Hamilton, who is the reigning F1 reigning world champion, has often been criticised for allowing his high profile private life to interfere with his racing career, has yet to comment on the reports regarding his relationship with Hadid.
