Boxer Floyd Mayweather was the world's top earning sportsman of the past 12 months, according to a report by Forbes magazine, with reigning Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton in 15th.
Hamilton earned $39 million during the course of last year, but he recently signed a lucrative new contract that could push him up the list next year.
Fernando Alonso's move from Ferrari to McLaren did not affect his earnings as he banked $35.5 million and placed 17th on the list.
Sebastian Vettel, who replaced Alonso at Ferrari, pocketed $33 million and saw him weigh-in 21st on the list and teammate Kimi Raikkonen's $27 million ranked him in 33rd place.
Outside Formula 1, in the world of motorsport, the top earner was Nascar star Dale Earnhardt Junior who banked $23.6 million and was ranked 55th.
The annual sporting rich-list revealed that Mayweather, who also topped the 2014 list, banked $300 million.
Most of that came from his 'super-fight' with Manny Pacquiao, whose $160 million takings made him the second-highest earner of the past year.
Real Madrid goal scoring machine Cristiano Ronaldo was third with $79.6 million, while his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi is fourth on the list.
Golfer Tiger Woods remains in the top ten thanks to his $50 million worth of endorsements, although poor form and injury saw him pocket only $600,000 in winnings.
The amounts quoted by Forbes - in US dollars - include salaries, bonuses, prize money and appearance fees, plus estimates of endorsement income for the past 12 months.
